Vibration
By: Isabelle Morgan
It’s weird
How a laugh breaks through sound
In a room full of voices
Chaotically vibrating around
But a laugh drowns it all
The conversations and chatter
A smile and burst
It’s elation with a scatter
Impossibly managed
Like dropping a purse
Vulnerable and uniquely possessed
Spreading out of your power
I lose mine at the chest
It isn’t a joke that I flatter
It’s the release
You somehow master
It’s loud
The corners soften to rounder
A barrage that comes
And just as easily goes
A stumble of my immunity
But my laugh
It suffocates the diluting
It pauses the intruding
Did you say something?
